Open source
PowerDNS is proud to be an open source community, and is very much a community effort. Although we started out as a closed source company, we released our code under the GPL license in 2002, and we are very happy with this choice.
Our mailing lists have over 1200 subscribers, and our instant messaging IRC channel regularly tops 200 users. PowerDNS would not be what it is today without its wonderful community.
